Stakeholder conversations, held in the open from August 2026 to Republic Day 2027. Conversations leave evidence. Evidence becomes ideas. Ideas become prototypes. And on January 26, all of it lands in the hands of the decision makers of every stakeholder group.

Today's noise? We saw it coming in 2023.

Beyond Syllabus is the fourth edition of Bridge The Gap, not a reaction to this year's headlines. Back in 2023, before the current debate about skills, AI and employability went mainstream, the first symposium brought government, universities, industry, faculty and platform builders around one table and wrote an intervention action model for exactly the shifts unfolding now. That model is reviewed and updated every year, and it moves things: after industry asked for it, KTU approved the six month internship. Now it is industry's turn to make those opportunities available at scale.

Every recommendation from that model is tracked in public, until each one is adopted, evolved, or honestly acknowledged as stalled.

Problem
High-stakes examinations concentrate enormous consequence behind a narrow gate: they certify memory of covered content rather than demonstrated capability, and too much of a learner's future rides on too little evidence.
Intervention
A term-long pilot in which a cohort maintains an evidenced portfolio of real work, assessed against a published rubric, run alongside existing exams rather than replacing them, with the comparison published either way.

The Portfolio Pilot

Employers say they trust evidence of real work over marks, but few institutions offer students a structured way to produce and certify that evidence.

HypothesisIf a cohort maintains an evidenced portfolio against a published capability rubric for one term, external reviewers will rate it a stronger hiring signal than the same cohort's marksheets.

The handover
